World’s youngest computer programmer to be the next Ripley’s record holder
Computer genius baby Wasik Farhan Roopkotha was accorded reception by Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Service (BASIS) recently. BASIS secretary Tansif Danesh, senior programme manager Hashim Ahmed and others were present at the ceremony held at BASIS office at city’s Karwan Bazaar.
The function was informed that New York Herald Tribune, California Observer, Estate News, Children Post and six others international websites announced Roopkotha as the world’s youngest computer programmer.
It was told that Ripley’s Believe It or Not, informed the baby’s parents that the UK based Ripley’s will include Roopkotha in its new book, which comes out in September, 2012.
Five years old Roopkotha, resident of Gulshan in Dhaka city, showed his programming skill prior to the reception.
BASIS officials were satisfied at the performance by the baby, who started using computer since his seven months age.
The function was informed that Roopkotha can develop his own computer system (with windows) and can do complex programming with skill.
He knows how to change the games character from one game to another game by using emulator. He has a strong knowledge on computer programming language.
Everyday the baby spends more than 12 hours with computer. He has already played more than 700 games and completed many complicated games such as Sonic-knuckles (all sonic series), Prince of Persia, Terminator 3, Hercules, Air Conflicts.
Though he has not yet been admitted to school, the boy type words with his tiny fingers on the keyboard. He can type as swift as any highly efficient typist without having looked at the keyboard.
He also can develop software using various emulator such as project64 1.7, dolphin, Game Cube, Nintendo 64, Gameboy Advance, Virtual Boy, DeSmuME and Computer Emulators.
The baby’s mother Cynthia Farheen Risha informed that her baby took IT lesson from none. He learnt everything without taking help and assistance from others, which is unprecedented, she said.
