How to build a CPU,build your
own computer:
Currently, there are several computers on the market that are already built, but sometimes there are cases in which we buy the pieces separately and then we begin implementing them in the CPU or, in the other hand, we choose to learn how to assemble a computer by ourselves.
Currently, there are several computers on the market that are already built, but sometimes there are cases in which we buy the pieces separately and then we begin implementing them in the CPU or, in the other hand, we choose to learn how to assemble a computer by ourselves.
The process to
assemble a computer is long but simple, and someone who is completely
unfamiliar with the devices and cables, will definitely have doubts and
problems when connecting devices. As follows, we will present a
series of basic steps to properly connect the materials ready.
The motherboard is
the most important part and also the largest one and it will connect the
various elements. First we proceed to remove the plaque and then we locate it
in a sort of little square that contains a plastic (in the support LGA), that
is the space to insert the processor, for it is necessary to remove the
plastic, lift the lever and remove the protective metal mesh. In this process
you should be extremely careful to avoid touching the pins as they are very
delicate.
Then you can install
the processor into the motherboard, the processor also has a little plastic
box, we will have to perform the exact the same procedure, we must be careful
when picking up the processor by holding it its two sides and eventually
connect it to the motherboard, put the metal mesh, lower the lever and it will
be ready.
After connecting the
DDR2 memory (or RAM), which is the easiest
operation to perform in the plate, there are two slots with their hooks, the
hooks are low security, the memories are inserted in the correct
position (at half memory will mark a kind of guide) to the bottom and then lift
the hooks and lever.
If, at some point,
you want to add another memory or switch it to a newer, you will only have to
insert it in the slot and it will be ready, it requires no additional
installation, because the computer will recognize the memory installed
automatically on startup.
The cooler is the
CPU’s fan and it is going to ventilate the components within the CPU and you
must know that this will be the last device to be installed directly to the
board. In order to be able to install it, it should be attached with a paste to
the processor (previously scattered in space to install) in the metal part of
it, then you must assure the four plastic pins with the holes in the plate,
these mostly black buttons must be strongly assured into the plaque,
fortunately the place in which they have to be placed is marked with arrows
indicating the direction, finally we should connect the power cord to the four
pins that are next to it.
After putting all the components together,
we proceed to insert the board into the Case (commonly called CPU box), in
order to be able to place it, we must make room for the plate, it means that we
have to remove the cables that prevent the pass. Then the board must be ensured
with the aid of the nine hooks that are placed on the bottom, so you can screw
them. You should begin by ensuring the center screw; this will give greater
convenience when installing the remaining bolts.
After that, you can
install the computer peripherals (such as the hard drive, the DVD player or
media, etc.), these will be placed in cabinets that are within the case, and
then adjusted with screws.
You must also
install the sound and video card, and network (which usually comes with the
motherboard) where there is also detail of how to install them, simply, these
boards have to be plugged into slots on the motherboard with a little pressure
(like DDR2 memory) and must also attach them to the back of the case so that
the entries of the plates can be connect from outside.
Now proceed with the
connection of components, components for optical drives will have a blue
connector type that will go to the motherboard and other connectors (or Master and
Slave) will be fitted in any port, this could be black or gray. Then, to be
able to connect the hard drive we have three different connectors, one will go
to the motherboard and the other two will be left for the readers, it will free the gray
and you will master (jumper), the blue IDE connector, which goes to the
motherboard and the rest of the IDE cables will go to the hard drive, then
connect the power cord.
Finally, connect the
power supply box (also called source) in a way in which all the elements that
are connected inside the case can be fed, in order to be able to do this,
inside the case there is some space in which the source could be installed in a
compartment, then you take it to the inside and you screw it into the back of
the case, then you must install the cables in the connection line of the
readers, one goes straight to the drive and the connector type 24 – pin ATX 24
will go to the slot of the motherboard.
Now, what is known
as the CPU is ready for you to use, all you would be missing would be the LCD,
keyboard, mouse and to connect the CPU to turn it on, then install the operating system and connect the
motherboard drivers, a few software and then you will be able to use the
computer .
